Even on the German and English pages of winbiz.ch, the modules keep their French names — never translated. That is not a localisation gap. That is the product's identity. A sole proprietor who needs bookkeeping and invoicing pays the same CHF 74 as a retail business running a payroll, a stock system, and a point-of-sale terminal — including the Salaires module for employees they don't have and the Caisse module for a shop they don't run. The bundle is non-negotiable — one SKU on winbiz.ch, twelve-month minimum term per their GTC, no per-module purchase, no volume discount.

With SoloDesk — open a browser or the app. The interface loads. Your data is there. Scanning happens on your phone. Bank transactions process in the background. The product behaves the same on a Mac, a Windows PC, and any phone.

With WinBiz — the product is a Windows desktop application published through Citrix. The login URL is winbiz.swiss.cloud — open it and you see a Citrix gateway, not a web app. Authentication runs through Citrix Workspace plus a Google Authenticator one-time password. To export a document, you grant Citrix Workspace read-write access to your computer's C: drive — per WinBiz's own Help Center guide. In April 2026, WinBiz is actively hiring developers on WeJob.ch for legacy Visual FoxPro code maintenance — Visual FoxPro is a Microsoft language released in 1995 and discontinued in 2007. Per the GetApp 2026 product FAQ, the product has no public API. The words "native cloud", "SaaS", "web app", "browser-based" do not appear anywhere on winbiz.ch in any language.

With SoloDesk — the mobile app covers the full workflow. Scan a receipt at the supplier's, review your VAT balance on the train, send a QR-Bill invoice from a client meeting. The same tool, the same data, in four languages, on any device.

With SoloDesk — open the app, scan the receipt, confirm. SoloDesk reads the amount, date, and supplier — and the line items inside. A single Coop receipt becomes three entries: groceries, office coffee, client gift — each tagged to the right category with the right VAT rate. Over time, SoloDesk learns your regular suppliers and prefills the fields. After a few months, most routine documents go through without any input.

With WinBiz — scanning is not part of the product. To process receipts by scanning in WinBiz, you go to the AppStore, install a third-party add-on, and configure it separately. The main option is ReceiptScan: Basic at CHF 8.90 per month, Standard at CHF 14.90, Premium at CHF 22.90 — depending on monthly volume. The scanning layer lives outside WinBiz, billed separately, supported separately.

With SoloDesk — month-to-month. Cancel any time. Your data is always yours — export it any time, for free. No exit fees. If you come back, you come back at the same price.

With WinBiz — twelve months minimum, regardless of whether the tool suits you. CHF 74 a month means CHF 888 of commitment from day one. To leave at the end of the minimum term, you give two months' written notice. Come back after cancellation and you pay a 50% reactivation fee. And if WinBiz raises its price mid-subscription, the new rate applies from the day it changes. All written into their terms.
